Our Work

Our work has two purposes, rooted in the same belief: there is always value in looking deeper.

1. The first is to rigorously diagnose complex environmental systems, trace the causes behind the changes we observe, and uncover the causal repair chain—the sequence of processes, leverage points and actions through which protection, adaptation and repair can unfold.

2. The second is to spread the hope that comes from this way of seeing. And, create a movement for causal chain repair.

We work to make causal thinking accessible, to deepen understanding of the relationships between people and the Earth, and to resist the false choices that emerge when complex problems are reduced to simple sides.

Because our experience has taught us that hope is not the absence of scientific rigour. It is often what rigorous investigation gives us.

When we keep asking why, keep following the connections, and refuse to stop at the most obvious explanation, new possibilities emerge.
